Thumri is one of the most popular forms of semi-classical music characterized by a restrained sensuality and it"s depiction of various moods associated with the sentiment of love. The session, conducted by eminent classical vocalist, composer, teacher and writer - Pushkar Lele, shall try to unfold the beauty and intricacies of this romantic form, along with some others like the Dadra, Chaiti, Sawan, Jhoola, Kajari and Hori. This is the third in the Guided Listening Sessions organised by Open Space, with the aim to engage the lay listeners to look at classical music with a fresher and wider perspective.Time: 10 AM.
