ANURADHA kRISHNAMURTHY
Anuradha Krishnamurthy was born in 1968 to the great proffessor K.V.Narayanaswamy. She began singing at the age of 3 and recieved her initial musical training under her mother Smt.Padma Narayanaswamy.
She won the Ford Foundation Scholarship to learn classical music in 1991.After this she recieved training from Padmabhushan Smt.T.Brinda and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr.T.Vishwanathan for 6 months.
Anuradha gave her first solo performance in 1986 during the December music festival in Chennai. She had also the fortune to participate at the Thyagaraja Aradhana festival, the United states, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia and Middle East. She also performed in the "Horizon" series organised by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations in New Delhi.
She won a number of awards such as Best Raga Alapna Award by Indian Fine Arts Society, D.K.Patammal Award for music by Music academy Madras, Best Neraval award by Sri Krishna Gana sabha in 1997. In 1998 she recieved the Valarum kalaignar award by Tamil Isai Sangam, Madurai. In 1991, she also won the Best Junior Vocalist in December Music Festival organised by Naradha Gana Sabha.
To sum up she can be said to be the burning star of Indian Carnatic Music horizon
