Maharashatra Cultural Centre presents a series “Sudarshan Sangeet Sabha†on every month’s third Sunday.Connoisseurs can enjoy the early Gramophone recordings in India – during first 5 decades of 20th century in a special feature program “Soor Araspaaniâ€.Along with the popular performers such as Abdul Karim Khan, Rahimat Khan, Vazebuwa, Master Krishna, Bal Gandharva, Sundara Bai, Hirabai Barodekar, Vinayakrao Patwardhan, etc; some rare records such as Orchestra of B R Deodhar, Violin of Allauddin Khan, Tabla by Khaprumam Parvatkar, etc will be played. The music & musicians of Maharashtra in that era will also be portrayed with the forms like Keertan, Lawani, NatyaGeet, BhaawGeet, KaywaGayan, etc.Pune based record collector Sanjay Sant will present the recordings and musicologist Chaitanya Kunte will speak about the artists and music in that era. 11am at Sudarshan Rangamanch, Shanivar Peth, Pune.
