Barkat Ali Khan

Ustad Barkat Ali Khan was the younger brother of Ustad Bade Ghulam Sahib. He had his Initial training from his father Ali Baksh Khan and later by his elder brother Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Ustad Barkat Ali Khan made great contributions to light classical music. He is acknowledged as one of the greatest thumri and dadra exponents. His outstanding murkis, phandas, zamzamas and lot of other techniques of Purab and Punjab ang captured the audience all over India and Pakistan.

Now his grandsons Mazhar Ali Khan, Jawad Ali Khan and Raza Ali Khan are the torch bearers of his gayaki and gharana.
