Here something to jazz up your evening

BANGALORE, November 14, 2011

Here is something jazz lovers in the city can look forward to.
As part of the Seagram"s 100 Pipers India Music Week, BuJazzO comprising 35 German jazz musicians will present their premiere show here on Wednesday. The winners of the 1997 German Music Prize promise “enthralling pure music”.

They will be joined by leading exponents of south Indian music such as R.A. Ramamani, T.A.S. Mani, Karthik Mani and master percussionist Ramesh Shotham of the Karnataka College of Percussion for a ‘BuJazzO meets India" concert.

The programme will also include compositions by Ramamani, Louiz Banks and Charlie Mariano. As part of their first Indian tour, the ensemble will travel to six other cities after the première in Bangalore. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, Deutscher Musikrat and Deutsche Welle.

BuJazzO has given over 400 concerts and has undertaken 15 international tours so far. The concert in the city will begin at 8 p.m. at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall.
