Afroz Bano was born in Jaipur. Though she recieved her initial training from Ustad Sadullah Khan of Sikar, she also had the oppurtunity of learning from Ustad Faiyaz Ahmad Khan and Niaz Ahmad Khan of Jaipur. Her training did not stop here as she also learnt from Ustad Abdul Rehman Khan of Patiala Gharana.
Thumri, Dadra , Kajri , Chaiti , Ghazals , Rajasthani Mand and Lok Geet and Bhajans are her area of specialisation,
Afroz Bano has performed nationwide. She has taken part in National programmes, Sangeet Sammelans and Conferences all over India.
Her husband Ustad Hidayat Khan the famous tabla player keeps guiding her.
