Shafaat Ahmed Khan is one of the most brilliant and popular performers on the Tabla among the younger generation of musicians today. He learnt playing the Tabla from a young age. His illustrious father, Chamma Khan of the Delhi school of Tabla playing, was his teacher.
Today, Shafaat Ahmed Khan has a busy schedule, accompanying the leading musicians and artists of India. He is very versatile, capable of giving accompanyment to vocalists, instrumentalists and classical dancers. He has also performed solo concerts. His association with Pandit Shivkumar Sharma goes back several years. He has accompanied Panditji on several concerts, both in India and abroad.
