Shubhankar Bannerjee is a young Tabla vituoso from Calcutta. He recieved his initial training from his father Shri Sunil Kumar Bannerjee. Later, he continued his training under the guidancs of Preetimoy Goswami and Swapan Siva. He is a representative of the Farukhabad school of Tabla playing.
Shubhankar has been on the concert circuit since he was sixteen. He performs regularly with many distinguished artists, both vocalists and intrumantalists, in Hindustani Music. He has also accompanied them on several tours to Europe, U.S.A and elsewhere
