Grand-nephew of Ghagge Khuda Baksh, the originator of Agra khayal gayaki, and son of Sher Khan, Nisar Husain - better known as Natthan Khan - is one of the fascinating figures of the Agra gharana. He is said to have pioneered the ati vilambit laya khayal in the bandish style in this gharana and his mastery of bandish elaboration was legendary. Highly repected in his own time, Natthan Khan became the court singer of Mysore. He was a close friend of Alladiya Khan of Jaipur, and taught among others his son Abdullah Khan, Bhaskarbua Bakhle and Bablibai.
