Bhaskar Pant (With Pix)
New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) Seven global artists, representing musical genres ranging from Hindustani classical, Jazz, Sufi to Electronic, have come together on a single platform for the first time to celebrate music without boundaries.
The group, which has already toured Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai and will perform in Delhi today.
"It"s about putting yourself through your music and it seems we are speaking the same language and there are more commonalities then differences. As musicians we are always taking anything we hear and it is being fused for our current work," American jazz pianist, Kevin Hays told PTI.
Hays, along with Rolling Stones pianist Tim Ries and Iranian singer Katayoun Goudarzi has collaborated with Indian Sitar maestro Ustad Shujaat Khan, tabla player Yogesh Samsi, bassist Karl Peters and American-Indian electronic artist Karsh Kale to form a unique group for a five city tour.

Pandit Shailesh Bhagwat |
|
| One of the most well known disciples of Late Bharat-Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan Saheb, Pandit SHAILESH BHAGWAT"s rendering of Shehnai is marked with an emotional presentation - which has a systematic blending and an improvisation of Raga in the "Gayaki-Ang". His phenomenal breath-control is superb and notable. |
